What is HatWatch for?
HatWatch quickly generates a Data Dictionary to document a Planhat tenant structure.
What information is included in the Data Dictionary?
The export shows inspected objects, access status, system and custom fields, keys, types, categories, options, and available descriptions.
Which Planhat objects are covered?
HatWatch inspects supported system objects and Custom Fields, based on your Private App Read permissions.
Does HatWatch analyze the values stored in my fields?
No. HatWatch maps the schema and metadata; business values are neither analyzed nor stored.
Why create a Data Dictionary before a Planhat implementation or migration?
It captures the current state to prepare a target model, mappings, and handover documentation.
How does a field inventory make integrations safer?
It provides a shared reference for checking keys, types, and options before an import, synchronization, or acceptance test.
Can HatWatch help identify duplicate Custom Fields?
It provides names, keys, and models for that analysis; it does not decide by itself that a field is duplicate.
Why audit your production data model regularly?
Tenants evolve: recurring inventories help track changes and prepare impact assessments.
When should I run another audit?
Before a migration, integration, process redesign, or after significant field and object changes.
How can the Data Dictionary be shared with teams?
Export it as CSV or JSON to your documentation, project, or governance tool.
Does a Data Dictionary replace a data governance program?
No. It provides documentation; governance also covers ownership, rules, and quality.
Is my data stored?
Planhat records, field values, and audit results are not stored. The token is encrypted at rest and can be deleted from the dashboard.
Can HatWatch modify or delete Planhat data?
No. HatWatch uses a Read / View Only Private App and sends no write operation.
Which Planhat permissions do I need?
A Private App token with Read / View Only permissions is sufficient; unreadable objects remain unavailable.
Why do some objects appear as NOK?
The token lacks Read permission for that endpoint, or Planhat returned an API error.
Why does HatWatch use passwordless sign-in links?
HatWatch avoids weak or reused passwords. Each link is personal, one-time use, and expires after 10 minutes.
What is included with Free access?
Free access shows complete totals, a preview of the first 20 fields, and lets you export that sample as CSV or JSON.
What does HatWatch Pro unlock?
A one-time €49 payment, tax included, unlocks the complete Data Dictionary and its exports for every tenant used from your HatWatch account. This is not a subscription.
Do I need a card to run the audit?
No. Payment is only offered after the Free results are displayed.
Why can the sign-in email be delayed?
Some spam filters or corporate email gateways filter new domains. Check your spam folder or ask your IT team to allow email from hatwatch.com.
